The AirBnB is running me $10.34 per day. It’s a bit on the expensive side, but I’m getting more than just accommodation. For example on Saturday, I was invited to dinner with my hosts. We talked about Georgian history among other things. Experiences like that are priceless.

On Thursday, I bought a new pair of jeans: $19.10. It’s interesting, length wasn’t important. The vendor just ensured the waste was correct, then went to a seamstress to have the length adjusted. So for half tailor-made jeans, I spent less than $20!

There’s just a cab ride on here: $1.18. It was late, and cold outside so I got it to stay warm.

Accommodation

So through Sunday, I was on the weekly AirBnB rate: $13.39 per night.

On Monday, I negotiated a monthly rate with the AirBnB host: $300 total or $10.34 per night. In hindsight, I should have gone through the app for two reasons. 1) the host just took the weekly rate and multiplied by 4. While AirBnB did offer a weekly rate discount, it offered a much higher additional discount for monthly bookings. 2) February is a short month. In the app, I could have put in 30-31 days and gotten the same rate rather than being limited to this leap year’s 29. Live and learn….

On Monday, a friend was trying to make a ‘normal’ phone call with my phone (I usually use an app that just uses data). So I bought some minutes to be nice: $3.47.

On Saturday, I took the metro once: $0.18. And a taxi, because the metro lines were closed when I wanted to go home: $1.44.

Accommodation

The old AirBnB was $9.26 per night.

On Monday, I moved to a new AirBnB. The price is a little higher since I only booked a week to see if I liked it: $13.39 per night. Note that AirBnBs get much cheaper when booking a week, month or longer. In this case, the weekly discount isn’t as large as the monthly, and the fixed costs (cleaning, etc.) are a much larger percentage of the overall charge.
